Professor Dave Mullins, Acting Head of Department

Welcome

Dear Candidate

Thank you for expressing an interest in the role of Professor of Programme Management.

WMG, at the University of Warwick, is an international role model for successful collaboration between academia and the private and public sectors, driving innovation and learning in applied science, technology and engineering, to develop the brightest ideas and talent that will shape our future.

As part of our planned growth we’re looking for a talented Professor to establish, and lead, a research team in the field of Project / Programme / Portfolio Management (3PM), which will underpin, contribute to and enhance WMG’s well-established education programmes in the field, as well as engaging with WMG’s other leading research teams.

You’ll have the freedom to lead on the field of 3PM research, including the setting up and leadership of project teams of various sizes, supporting tools and thinking for decision making in projects, dealing with uncertainty and risk, the logistics of projects, relevant data science (including operations modelling and data analytics), project control and evaluation and sustainability considerations.

You will be required to identify new opportunities for courses that will benefit a range of potential stakeholders. By making a significant contribution to the design and delivery of these courses, you will help to ensure that we deliver research-led teaching in the area of Programme Management.

Your record of accomplishment should speak for itself, and we would want to continue this with the publishing of well-cited papers in leading journals and winning substantial grant and contract income.

Being part of the Professorial team will mean collaborating with a wide range of businesses and service organisations and working in multi-disciplinary collaborations. You will engage with policy makers, opinion formers, professional organisations, trade associations, and “think tanks”.

This is a unique opportunity to lead and develop a portfolio of collaborative research and teaching activities, within a large, industry-focused department at a Russell Group university.  If you feel you have the skill-set we are looking for, we would be delighted to hear from you.

If you wish to have a confidential, informal discussion with our advising consultants from GatenbySanderson, please contact Peter Guilder on 07545 441127   . In addition to the information here, you can find out more about us by visiting www.wmg.warwick.ac.uk
